Boo! It’s Halloween – October 31st. It is also the last day of National Roller Skating Month. We thought we share a little about it…
Since its declaration almost 30 years ago by then President Ronald Reagan, roller skating has always been a highly-popular pastime among families and friends.
Still today, roller skating has never waned in being a much-enjoyed sport. From quad skating, inline skating, and roller derby, roller skating has a lot of benefits in physical, mental and emotional aspects. As a roller skater, it’s important to raise awareness on the value of roller skating especially this month.
Skating is also very affordable–good quality roller skates don’t cost much and you can even skate at the park when you don’t want to pay for skate time at the rink (which is actually rather inexpensive and wouldn’t hurt your pocket). If you don’t own roller skates, you can easily rent them at the rink, including protective gear for your own safety.
Tell your friends about roller skating and bring them along when you’re rolling in the rink or at the park. Ditch the gadgets, stop chatting on Twitter or updating your status on Facebook. Go for natural bonding moments through roller skating!
Kids will also enjoy roller skating as well as the challenge of finding their balance on wheels while mom or dad slowly guides them around the rink. Check out your local rink or go skating outdoors and take the whole family with you for a rollin’ good time!
If you haven’t tried roller skating, it’s time to lace up and have some wheel fun! So, get ready to roll and rumble this October as we celebrate National Roller Skating Month!
